Any plans to release SystemImager 3.9.1 soon? I want to update the
version of SystemImager to the latest unstable. This should give
OSCAR users/developers a chance to test the fast reboot option of new
SystemImager via kexec.

It could use testing on different distributions/architectures.

For those of you who haven't been following the threads, basically
there is a new option when you create a new client image in OSCAR with
post-install action to be kexec, which allows clients to use the kexec
facility to boot into the newly imaged kernel by-passing the need to
reboot the system and go through BIOS etc.

Erich, are we ready to tag/release new SystemConfigurator/SystemInstaller?

Thanks,

Bernard

There's no reason for releasing a new version of SystemConfigurator, the
latest release on the sf.net page is what you need. What changes in
SystemInstaller do you need for systemimager 3.9.1 to work?

Erich

I didn't check the SF project page for SystemConfigurator, I just
noticed that the one in the OSCAR repo is not the latest version, so I
guess I'll update that as well.

My recent changes that adds "kexec" as one of the post-install options
when building new client images.

Cheers,

Bernard,

SystemImager 3.9.0 already supports fast-reboot stuff (see the changelog here
http://sourceforge.net/project/shownotes.php?group_id=259&release_id=502943).

The same for the latest release of SystemConfigurator (2.2.9).
